Intelligent Transport systems in Egypt Opportunities and Challenges 3rd April 2014
Date: April 3rd, 2003
Overview Information and communication technology is playing an increasing role in improving various activities in modern societies. Among the areas that received special attention is the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) for which many countries have developed their own vision, architecture, standards, and protocols. In its efforts to improve road services and enhance safety and security, both the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Ministry of Interior (MOI) in EGYPT have focused on deploying ITS ideas and technologies to fulfill these goals. The Cairo Ring Road ITS project, which was announced in February 2014, is a recent manifestation of MOT and MOI efforts in the ITS area. This workshop aims to bring together the various stockholders and beneficiaries of ITS in EGYPT, in an effort to have a unified vision for this vital system, and to exchange ideas and experience among the various players. It is hoped that ultimately the Egyptian citizen will benefit from ITS deployment as one solution to many of road transportation problems. Workshop details |
