Dr. Tarek Kamel headed an official ministerial mission to Uganda.

In the context of Egyptian trend to support and vitalize relations with the African continent countries, notably those of the Nile Basin, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel paid Kampala, Ugandan capital, a visit from 14 to 16 December 2010 and accompanied by, Prof. Ahmed Al-Sherbini, Deputy to Minister of Communications and Information Technology for International Cooperation and Director of the National Telecommunication Institute and high level delegation of leaders of MCIT.

The visit aims at fostering Egypt's relations with the African Continent, opening up an ongoing dialogue with the Nile Basin countries, Uganda in particular. Another purpose of the visit is to attempt to get acquainted with the problems facing the ICT sector in these countries and contribute to solving them.

In this regard, Dr. Kamel witnessed the signing of memorandums of understanding (MOU)s and letters of intent between the Egyptian ICT officials and their Ugandan counterparts. These agreements focus on some tracks.
