NTI Intensive Training Activities During Summer.

During 2010 summer, NTI resumed its intensive training activities for capacity building in the field of ICT during summer in it premises in Nasr City and Smart Village.

It has already organized 12 training courses for 196 engineers. The courses tackled the following tracks:

Juniper Networking - LAN administration using HP - Wireless Telecommunications by Alactel Lucent- 3rd Generation Wireless Telecommunications - Fiber Optics Correspondences - Cisco LAN – Operating Systems by HP - Voice over IP (Basic) - Voice over IP (Advanced) - HP Procurve Networking - Distant Learning - IT quality assurance program.

During its summer programs delivered to Egyptian Engineering students, NTI has trained 115 students from Cairo, Helwan, Ain Shams, Al-Azhar, Almenia, Al– Menofeia, Zagazig, Mansoura, Banha, and Tanta universities.

The program lasted for one month, and was done in cooperation with the five scientific divisions in the institute. It aims at exposing the future engineers with the state- of – the – art devices and applications used in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology.

The NTI has also organized training courses in the field of ICT for 11 employees working in some banks operating in Egypt, and 16 employees working in the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in two consecutive courses. 11 employees in petroleum companies and TE data, and 11 employees working in Communications ministry received training on wireless communications using Wimax.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sherbiny, Deputy to the Minister and NTI Director, declared that these programs meet the local and regional company needs working in the fields of ICT. The courses, he focused, stress the role of NTI in ICT Capacity Building, achieving the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology strategy for building high calibers of engineers, highlighting the role of Egypt as a pioneer in ICT field in Africa and the Arab world.
