Cooperation Agreements to be signed between NTI and Canadian Technology Firms.

Date: June 14th, 2007

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Tarek Kamel will witness the signing of two cooperation agreements between the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) and Montreal-based companies SR Telecom and Goulet Telecom in the context of the official trade mission to Canada.

The cooperation agreement with SR Telecom International will establish a training lab at the NTI facilities in Egypt. SR Telecom International, a pioneer in the manufacturing, design, and deployment of wireless telecommunications equipment and WiMAX technology, will also train two NTI engineers at the company's premises in Canada.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will also be signed between NTI and Goulet Telecom, a major international player in the field of telecommunications training and consultancy, to provide a range of telecommunications programs across Egypt as well as other regions in Africa and the Middle East.

"The signing of these two agreements reinforces NTI's position and role as a leading training and consultancy institution in Egypt and in the Middle East," said Dr. Ahmed El Sherbini, Director of NTI.
