Call for Papers

IEEE Vehicular Technology Chapter (VTC-Egypt), IEEE Egypt section, and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) are organizing the Intelligent and Sustainable Vehicle Networking (ISVN) Workshop, (ISVN 2023) from the December 4th – December 7th, 2023. The workshop program will consist of invited sessions on selected topics, tutorials, and contributed sessions.

The Intelligent and sustainable vehicle networking (ISVN) is a crucial field for development in the context of smart cities and has the potential to considerably advance both social and economic growth.

Real-time data will be crucial in the near future when traffic is diverted in a timely manner, right away when necessary, and when green waves are the norm rather than the exception. Because there are very few opportunities for infrastructure operators and road users to enhance the overall traffic situation without a regular interchange of real-time data. The so-called Internet of Vehicles (IoV) ushers in a new age for intelligent transportation system (ITS) operations in smart cities as technologies like autonomous vehicles and 6G communications gather traction .

Online traffic data acquisition, ultra-broadband connections, alternate mobility modes, efficient energy use, and low-latency optimization algorithms capable of discovering high-quality solutions to complicated operational difficulties in real time are all necessary for the efficient performance of ISVN/IoV systems .

Electronic equipment (computer chips, sensors, traffic cameras, drones, etc.) installed in infrastructure and vehicles collect a lot of data in these smart cities in real time, send it over the internet, and then process it using information and expert systems. Just two of the many challenges that maintaining the ISVN/IoV offers include the efficient processing of enormous volumes of data and the communication between nodes.

This workshop aims to provide a platform for an interactive dialog between researchers and specialists and practitioners in the industry. The technical scope of this workshop includes, but is not limited to the following topics:

Presented papers will be considered for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.
